13th Biennial Conference on High Resolution X-Ray Diffraction and Imaging

Conference place

The conference will take place at the University Cinema Scala (address: Moravské náměstí 3, i.e. Moravian square 3). The cinema, opened in 1929, has been successfully restored by Masaryk University in 2013 as a centre for cinema, culture and education.

 

Access to Scala:

  • By walk from hotels Continental and International, see the Accommodation page.
  • By walk or by tram or trolley bus from the Kounicova Hall of Residence, see the Accommodation page.
  • From the Railway Station the walk through the city centre measures 1,1 km.
  • From the Railway Station or Bus Station Grand Hotel by tram number 9 (direction Juliánov), stop Česká (platform is located 90 m from Scala), travel time 4 minutes.
  • From the Railway Station or Bus Station Grand Hotel by tram number 4 (direction Masarykova čtvrť), stop Česká (platform is located 190 m from Scala), travel time 5 minutes.
  • From the Railway Station or Bus Station Grand Hotel by tram number 12 (direction Technologický park), stop Česká (platform is located 270 m from Scala), travel time 6 minutes.

Notes:

  • The Česká tram node has three platforms (times two for each direction).
  • Tram number 12 in direction to the Technologický park passes around Zvonařka Bus station, Bus Station Grand Hotel, the main Railway Station,  hotel International, conference hall Scala and hotel Continental, and the Kounicova Hall of Residence (in this order).
  • Ticket for 15 minutes costs 20 CZK. You have to validate it inside the vehicle.
  • Ticket for 45 minutes costs 25 CZK. You have to validate it inside the vehicle.

  • Eduroam is available in the whole Scala.
  • Free public wifi is available in both the lower and the upper foyers.
